Ohio Junkins to Meet

From JFA Newsletter no. 4, Summer 1991

Director Team, Karl and Joanne Junkins, have been planning a Mid-west Junkins family reunion for this summer. The event will be held on Saturday, July 20, 1991. At the time of this writing, they are expecting over 45 Junkins to attend the one-day affair. If you plan to attend and have not informed Karl and Joanne yet, it is not too late to call them for a reservation, (419) 893-4121. Betty and I will be there along with Donald and Roland Junkins and their sister, Betty Leck, and others from the east coast.

Because Wood County, Ohio has some of the best agricultural land in our nation and the Junkinses were prominent in settling a section of the country, the theme for the day will be farm life. The schedule of events will be:

9:30 a.m. Meet at the Adams Phillips Shelter and Park, Bowling Green, Ohio for registration and get acquainted.
Coffee, iced tea, and healthy snacks and tour of the Wood County Historical Museum.
1:00 p.m. Lunch at the South Liberty United Methodist Church. Tour Jake and Dorothy Heilman farm and
Junkins country where there are at least 8 other Junkins farms.
6:30 p.m. Family Dinner and business meeting back at the church.

There are plenty of motels and hotels in Bowling Green, Perrysburg and at Exit 4 of the Ohio Turnpike. Call Karl and Joanne for names and phone numbers. We are looking forward to this 1991 Ohio reunion and meeting many new-found cousins.
