Memorial Marker to be Dedicated at Three Trees Burial Ground

On Friday morning, September 27th, the Junkins Family Association will dedicate a granite marker at the believed location of Robert Junkins' grave. The funds for this marker will come from the Historical and Memorial Marker Fund donations, which have been accumulating in our treasure over the past few years.

As a result of the archaeological dig, which took place in May of 1995, we know that there are three adults and one infant buried there. The first four Junkins to die in the colonies were Robert Junkins (1699), Joseph Junkins and Abigail Junkins infant son (ca. 1710), Joseph Junkins (1711), and Sarah Junkins (1718), wife of Robert. At the last Board of Directors meeting in Pennsylvania, it was voted to place a memorial marker identifying these four burial pits.
