This forum is for the discussion of JFA research help.

We ask that you be critical, but polite.

Please post requests in a new thread. Replies should follow under the thread.

FIRST CHECK THE JFA GENEALOGY DATABASE!!! It is here.

We suggest that in making a help request, that you supplie us with a lineage from Robert Junkins, so that we can distinguish from amongst the many like named Junkins. (There are over 20 Daniel Junkins, nearly 30 Josephs, nearly 40 James.)

An appropriate notation would be:

"I am looking for information about Roland Hammond Junkins, Jr. (also known as "Bud".
Robert(1), Alexander(2), Joseph (3), James Jr.(4), Joseph(5), John H.(6), Leonard Putnam(7), Victor Pearl(8), Roland Hammond(9), Roland Hammond “Bud” Jr.(10)"

Hi Ken, Thought I would introduce myselfNot a Junkins cousin that I know of, but I am following the trail of ancestors and descendants of John Hoy of York Maine, granted land 1674 at Brixham, outside Scotland, Maine.This gent was very likely a Scots POW, then likely followed the Ettrick Forest interest to homestead in wild land just past the York bridge, headed north toward Newgewanacke (in the deeds) or Newechewannick (in the 1677 Hubbard History)that is, south Berwick, abutting Capt. Davis land. This Hoy was probably a soldier whether he liked it or not in 1675, participating in the substantial fighting in 1675.

I would love to contact others who may have reference to this gent or his son, one John Hoy, who married Sarah Clark in Boston, apparently. I do not know the mom's name, nor of other children. The family had an orchard, mentioned after the dad's death in 1719.
