Chester Goding11 Junkins (Aubrey Willard10, George Washington9, Isaac Lord8, Isaac7, James6, James5, James4, Joseph3, Alexander2, Robert1), 82, passed away peacefully at his home in Hampden. He was born October 16, 1924 in Lincoln, ME, the son of Tessie (Goding) and Aubrey Junkins.
Chester grew up in Bangor, attended Bangor schools and was a graduate of NYA Technical School in Eastport, studying electrical technology. He worked at Dow Field doing electrical maintenance on B-17s during WW II. He later worked for Webber Ford and Webster Oil Company. Chester retired from Bangor Hydro after 39 years of service, retiring as Superintendent of the Electrical Department.
Chester loved life and people and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a member of Mystic Masonic Lodge #65 A.F. & A.M. of Hampden, Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Bangor, Anah Temple Shrie of Bangor, the Shrine Sun Shine Club, Star in the East Chapter #17 O.E.S. of Hampden and the Hampden Congregational Church. He was a former Boy Scout Leader and loved going to camp at Cold Stream, traveling and wintering in FL for 16 years.
Chester is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Priscilla, of Hampden; a son Ronald and his wife, Sharon, of Hudson; a daughter Judith Ann (Junkins) Bayly of Amherst, NH; a sister Betty Jean Junkins of Winterport; a brother and sister-in-law, Carlton and Louise Junkins of Winterport; a grandson, Eric, of Orono; grandaughter, Amy, of Bango; two great-grandchildren, Courtney and Tyler Junkins, both of Hampden; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his love of life and family, and pride in his Scottish heritage.
