From JFA newsletter no. 5, Winter 1991
The reunion committee has met several times over the past few months and written many letters to hotels and motels in the York, Maine area searching for the best possible place to hold the Association's first biennial reunion. At the Board of Directors' meeting in York this past August, it was decided that the reunions of the Association should be more than just a one-day affair. It was suggested that a two- or three-day reunion would give everyone time to become better acquainted with our new-found cousins and friends and also allow for several interesting events, tours and meetings. Many attendees will be traveling from other states and arranging their vacations around this event.
In order to allow for this, the committee has picked August 13, 14 and 15 as the dates for this reunion and selected the Sheraton, Portsmouth on the Piscataqua River in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. This is only a ten or fifteen minute drive from York and promises to be an excellent facility for our events. The hotel has set aside thirty-five rooms for our guests at a special rate and will provide hospitality, banquet, and meeting rooms for us. The committee will be sending you complete information about the schedule of events, prices and different combinations of packages in late January or early February. This tentative schedule of events below will be outlined in complete detail in your reunion package when you receive it.
