1991 Archaeological Fieldwork

From JFA Newsletter no. 4, Summer 1991

On August 14, 15 and 16th, Kathleen Wheeler, Historic Archaeologist, will again be working at the Junkins Garrison site on Cider Hill Road, York, Maine, continuing our examination of the Alexander Junkins burial ground and some test digs around the garrison cellar hole itself. Betty and I will be there to assist, along with Donald and Roland Junkins. If any of you are in the area, please stop by and see what activities are taking place. You can see how archaeologist Kathy wields her famous "Plastic Red Brush," trowel and scoop, and maybe be there when a Junkins artifact is discovered.
